It feels like Asian players show their full ego when they join the national team

Looking at the current national football players, it seems like they spend their childhoods abroad acting like the "good, polite Asian," but then when they come back to their home country, they commit things at the national level that would be unimaginable in their clubs—whether it's pent-up frustration or just because they feel they hold the upper hand.
I felt this in another sport too; Hachimura is a gentle lamb in the US, but in Japan, he's basically Lu Bu himself—the kind of guy who tests the waters about joining the national team and talks back to the coach and the federation.
