Do YouTube Premium ads still appear?

I tried subscribing to Premium Lite yesterday
but I still saw ads
They seemed to appear a bit less frequently, though
is it the same for everyone else?
Also, regarding the "background playback" feature
it seems like it only works for videos with copyrights
It doesn't seem to work for videos uploaded by individuals.
