Was Park Chu-young a superstar in high school?

‌I was talking to the CEO of a company in Gyeonggi-do recently (a mid-sized enterprise CEO)
He said he was a high school alumnus
of player Park Chu-young (Daegu Cheonggu High School)
and that he was a total hero back in school
Apparently, he was completely dominant whenever he entered national competitions
and would win immediately whenever he played
Was he really that good?
