Has anyone experienced a SLAP (Shoulder Labrum) tear?

I thought my chronic shoulder pain was a rotator cuff tear, but the MRI results show it's a SLAP type 2.
I canceled the surgery because I didn't trust the doctor at the hospital where I got the scan, and when I went to my local clinic, they told me the surgery isn't urgent.
Do you think I can avoid surgery?
It feels fine when I'm just resting, but the pain varies depending on my posture, my range of motion is limited, I can't apply much strength, and the pain gets a bit worse at night.
