[Review] The Vegetarian (Spoiler Alert)
I read it thoroughly after falling for a viral video on YouTube where Kim Chang-wan asked how anyone could have such horrific thoughts.
Around the midpoint, I thought, "Ah, this woman is going to become a tree," and it went exactly as I expected.
I was a bit disappointed because it wasn't that horrific compared to that manga where they bury a person, open their skull, and make a flowerpot out of their brain.
I was also deeply disappointed by the pathetic behavior—instead of giving her food as she wants, couldn't they just drive a pile driver into the ground and water her? Isn't that what we siblings do to each other?
I also got pissed off by the attitude of screwing over the nursing home staff who seemed to be doing their best.
All in all, I read it very enjoyably.
It was a real page-turner.
