The famous scene at the end where the director teases the audience.mp4
The final scene of the movie The Shining...
Suddenly, calm music begins to play...
The camera slowly zooms in on the photos hanging on the wall...
The director is conveying this to the audience...
"Do you know why I'm showing you this? Take a guess."
Then, it shows the entire party photo scene and pauses for a few seconds.
"You should know by now, right? If not, I'll zoom in and show you."
Then, it shows a zoomed-in shot where about ten people are visible and pauses.
"Still don't get it?? This is frustrating. Fine, I'll show you clearly then."
Then, it shows a close-up of one person and slowly
pans down to show the location and time the photo was taken.
"Now you get it, right?? This kid became a ghost. The people in the photo with him
all became ghosts like this too. It's over, so enjoy the good music and goodbye."
The more I rewatch it, the more it feels like the director is intentionally teasing us....
