The ridiculous thing I did in 2nd grade

Back then, even as soon as you entered elementary school,
you could ride the bus or subway all by yourself.
I even took the Pigeon Express (train) from Seongbuk to Dongducheon.
One day, I saw a boy my age getting on a bus,
and when he gave a newspaper to the driver,
the driver let him on without charging him.
So, I picked out some newspapers from the scrap paper at home
and gave them to the bus driver when I boarded.
After doing that several times,
I told my mom about it as if I had discovered a great new secret.
She told me, "That kid delivers newspapers, so he gives them instead of fare.
You aren't supposed to ride by giving old newspapers."
That's how I realized I had been doing something foolish.
But those bus drivers...
I wonder why they never said anything to me...
