Do they lift all phone restrictions once you become a high school student??

My middle schooler is currently using their phone with usage time limits set via my phone,
but once they enter high school, do they lift all of these?
I heard that in my child's middle school class, it's currently split down the middle—
about 50% parental control and 50% autonomous use.
