You have to become a veteran in this competitive society...

Living life a bit, I've realized that life after middle age is about surviving on the competitiveness you have built up until then.
This competitive society is truly not easy; it's much easier to get by if you become at least a veteran in a certain field.
It is a harsh world for those who failed to become experts because they dabbled in this and that without any seriousness.
Looking at some of my peers, they aren't even that much older, yet they have no intention of building their own competitiveness;
it is truly frustrating to see people trying to take the easy way out with shallow tactics.
