I just received a ridiculous voice phishing call

I received a call claiming that my mobile service is scheduled to be suspended.
The funny thing is, if my mobile service is about to be suspended, why is the call coming from a landline instead of a mobile phone?
Usually, if mobile service is scheduled for suspension, I receive several text messages stating the specific date of suspension, but I have never received such a notice via a phone call.
