I've been on a business trip to Taiwan for 6 months, so I'm open to questions.
I'm staying near Tainan, and man, English really doesn't work here lol
Last night, a colleague and I decided to go out to a club in downtown Tainan.
We tried to take a taxi and showed them Google Maps, but we were rejected by 7 different taxis
because they said they couldn't read English. On the 8th attempt, we finally managed to
get to our destination with the help of a local Taiwanese (someone who could speak a little English).
But since it was a Saturday, there were so few people that we just had two beers each and came back to our accommodation. I'm not great at English either, but this is really something. It's not even a remote countryside area, but it seems like I'll have to go to Taipei or Kaohsiung if I want to hit a club.
I thought it would be a bigger city than I expected, but I was shocked by how few people there were once I actually arrived at Tainan Station.
