Ugh, I just stepped on a baby house centipede

I don't know if there's a huge infestation at my place, but they show up at least once a week.
Today, I accidentally stepped on a baby house centipede; it must have been just sitting still on the floor.
My house is clean, but since it's an old apartment, there are so many of them. Shiver...
