Rice explodes with WC multi-HR + 6 RBIs! No need for NYY's Judge... BOS collapses helplessly in '9-0 blowout'

‌
Rice absolutely crushed the game in the bottom of the 8th. After adding one run via a Wells sacrifice fly, the Yankees faced Rice at the plate with two outs and the bases loaded. Rice launched a grand slam over the center field wall against Bryan Bello. The score instantly widened to 9-0. Boston effectively lost any will to chase the game and suffered a helpless defeat without scoring a single run.
While there were many concerns for the Yankees due to Judge's absence, Rice perfectly filled his role. Rice became the protagonist of Game 1 of the Wild Card series, recording 4 hits, 2 home runs, 6 RBIs, and 2 runs in 5 at-bats.
