A reality check. Storytime

A gathering of my girlfriend's friends and younger sister, all incredibly beautiful people.
"Please bring some guys who are like older brothers or brothers-in-law."
The only handsome junior I know isn't picking up his phone.
I called my best friends, and the atmosphere went dead.
Meanwhile, my best friends were going wild.
Since then, I've been getting constant messages.
"Connect me to your social circle/network."
I ended up getting cursed out by my girlfriend for an entire month.
