Allegations have been raised that President Lee Jae-myung planned a 3-day, 2-night golf trip to Jeju Island from the 16th to the 18th but abruptly canceled it. This follows the discovery of circumstances where a request for airspace control near golf courses in the Jeju area and a movement plan for the presidential aircraft between Jeju and Seongnam Airport were registered in a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) and then canceled all at once.
According to NOTAM-related data obtained by Rep. Choi Eun-seok of the People Power Party (Daegu Dong-gu Gunwi-gap) on the 21st, a request for airspace control for the southeastern region of Jeju was made at 12:18 PM on the 15th. The requested control period was set from 7:40 PM on the 16th to 6:00 PM on the 18th.
The area for which airspace control was requested is the Gasi-ri area in Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, where golf courses such as Shineville Park, Cypress, and Haevichi are concentrated. This means that airspace control was requested for the area near the golf courses, separate from the Jeju World Cup Stadium, which was President Lee's official event venue on the 16th.
