An acquaintance opened a restaurant; what should I give them?

Since I couldn't attend the opening ceremony, it feels awkward to just give a cash envelope.
I'd like to give a gift instead, but I've never done this before, so I'm not sure what would be good.
Please let me know your suggestions.
