I actually think I saved more money during COVID

Because of COVID, all the work in my industry
was completely canceled, so I received 2 years of paid leave
and kept receiving my salary regularly.
A friend of mine does small-scale electrical work and asked me
to help out because they were short-staffed; even though I was a complete novice, they paid me 200,000 KRW per day.
Since most of the work was in rural areas, I stayed in accommodations there
and traveled all over the provinces every day except Sundays.
If I ended up working overtime, there were many days when I earned double my daily wage,
and I worked like that for nearly 2 years until I returned to my company.
I started as a complete beginner, but by the end, I had learned
enough to master most things.
By combining my original company salary + the electrical daily wages for 2 years,
I managed to save quite a bit of money. Also, since it was the COVID era,
there were no reasons to spend money... Before that, I didn't really save and
would spend my entire salary every month, but
after that, I discovered the joy of saving money, so I stopped overspending
and started being more frugal.
