Reflections on the Press Conference

It felt as if the President was being dragged out like a criminal.
A person who was once so bright and cheerful has become like that in just one year.
You wouldn't know how sadistic and violent South Korean society is, or how strong the remnants of learned fascism are—a force so deep that people aren't even aware of it.
It was only after living abroad for ten years that I realized the learned fascism within myself.
South Korea.
A society where adults click their tongues at school violence, yet subject children to a violent daily reality themselves.
A country where people engage in what is essentially group bullying as if it were as common as eating a meal.
