Reasons for Jung Bong-ju's Appointment to Party Position
8/27 Political Commentary from the Mountain - Lee Bong-je Cheong
Chairman Kim Min-seok has appointed former lawmaker Jung Bong-ju as a Special Planning Advisor to the Party Leader. Since this is such an unconventional appointment, even though I am at the mountain summit, I cannot help but offer a commentary.
First, when Jung Bong-ju was at his peak, he took great care of Jung Cheong-rae, but he felt a sense of personal betrayal toward Jung Cheong-rae, who ignored his calls after becoming Party Leader.

Second, Jung Bong-ju and Kim Eo-jun have cycled between being in a community of destiny and fighting for hegemony as speakers for the Democratic camp.
They are people who know each other's dirty laundry far too well.
Third, the person who nurtured the Democratic Party's troublemakers, Choi Min-hee and Choi Kang-wook, is none other than Jung Bong-ju.
Fourth, Jung Bong-ju is currently stripped of his right to stand for election due to a guilty verdict under the Election Act. There is little possibility he can run in at least the 2028 general election. His only hope is the reinstatement by President Lee Jae-myung.
The problem is that because the 2024 Democratic Party convention was such a mess, he has taken an anti-Myung position, so there is no possibility that President Lee Jae-myung will simply reinstate him.
Chairman Kim Min-seok might try to "suggest(?)" it to the President using his authority as Party Leader—after seeing how Jung Bong-ju performs.
He uses Bong-ju to suppress Cheong-rae, and uses him as a wildcard to control Min-hee and Kang-wook. We can also expect him to keep Kim Eo-jun in check.
This is my evaluation of Kim Min-seok's appointment today. He is a fearsome man. Kim Min-seok is…
