I wish they would increase the villa loan limit to 500 million won and raise the age limit.
For reference, I am a homeowner of a newly built apartment in Seoul.
The current villa policy offers loans up to 80% of the house price at a 3% interest rate for youth under 39, with a limit of 400 million won.
However, it seems like you need a villa worth around 500 million won for a family of 3 or 4 to live in Seoul.
With 400 million won, you can find a unit in the 20-pyeong range (3 rooms, 1 bathroom), but those are mostly in the outskirts.
I wish they would increase the limit to 500 million won and also extend the age limit to include people in their 40s, as there are many who still haven't been able to buy a home.
Even if it's just a villa, owning your own home provides peace of mind.
They told us to buy non-apartments under 400 million won... but the average price for a villa is 428.52 million won.
