Oldest existing gunpowder weapon 'Hwangjahwatong' discovered... at least 118 years earlier than previously known

‌

Discovery of the oldest gunpowder weapon, Hwangjahwatong
Estimated to have been manufactured in 1377 or 1437
(The previously known oldest gunpowder weapon was the 1555 Cheonjachongtong)
This allows for filling the gap in the history of firearms development between the Goryeo Hwatongdogam and the Joseon era of King Sejong
