I'm playing a classic RPG, but I can't do this

I'm playing Legend of Heroes II, but I can't keep going because it feels like such a waste of time.
The paths are twisted like a maze, so I spend way too much time just wandering around.
Maybe because people back then had nothing else to do, but it feels like this game was designed specifically to study how to make people waste time.
It's a low-quality game.
It just doesn't feel right for busy modern people, you know?
