What comes to mind in September: The September 1996 Gangneung North Korean Armed Infiltration Anti-Espionage Operation

In '96, a provocation by North Korea occurred in Gangneung.
The next day, when the news reported that they had shot all the crew members and fled,
the first thought that came to my mind was, 'These guys must be among the absolute elite of the elite combatants from the North.'
Since I was part of a unit that confronted North Korean search and infiltration agents in the DMZ,
there are often classified Level 2 secrets regarding the DMZ that cannot be spoken of.
Based on that experience, I thought that the ones who killed those agents and disappeared would be difficult to catch.
Since the Seorak Unit, where the ROK military's elite combat agents are gathered, was located nearby, I assume the elites of the Seorak Unit were also deployed secretly,
and Intelligence Command agents would have been tracking the North Korean armed agents on the front lines,
engaging in undisclosed battles.
North Korea's absolute elites are selected from a young age and undergo training where they eat and sleep in caves specifically for night shooting,
training to distinguish objects by the light of their eyes even at night; they are monsters who can shoot in pitch-black darkness.
For that reason, I speculate that many Intelligence Command combat agents must have died unofficially.
For the regular soldiers who were ambushing in the third line, the seniors and those nearing discharge must have had a hard time lying in the barracks, while the new recruits probably found field life easier than barracks life.
The machine gunner for the 2-44-2 caliber (60mm) would have struggled with exhaustion, as 400 rounds of 60mm ammunition weigh about 14kg, and they had to climb mountains continuously while carrying those 400 rounds on their bodies plus the 10.432kg 60mm machine gun slung over their shoulders.
