It is truly baffling that window tinting is not regulated

I bought a used car, but the windshield tint was so dark I couldn't see anything, so I had to strip it all off.
But looking around, there are almost no cars where you can see the interior through the windshield, right?
Even looking at the forums, everyone points this out, but I wonder if everyone just uses a lighter tint.
Anyway, it is truly baffling that there are no restrictions on this, as it limits forward visibility when it's raining or dark.
I wonder if they don't change the law because it would cause approval ratings to drop...
In the past, when you cut someone off, you would raise your hand to show apology instead of using hazard lights.
That's an impossible thing to talk about nowadays.
