Akane Yamaguchi's results are only exceptional at the World Championships

‌The only thing Akane Yamaguchi can hold her own against An Se-young with is her three World Championship titles. That is the only thing she can truly boast about to An Se-young.
Her results in other tournaments are mediocre... She has no Olympic gold, and no Asian Games gold (she has a team gold, but no singles gold)...
Even her BWF rankings and overall performance don't give her much ground to stand on against An Se-young. The only thing she can truly compete with is those three World Championship titles.
I hope An Se-young makes it to the finals this time and completely crushes her.
