Cooking is truly unpredictable
I was making fried eggs for lunch, and no matter how hard I try, I just can't master the skill of keeping them in a perfect circle like they look when you crack them.
I thought maybe I didn't use enough cooking oil because it seemed to be sticking, so I thought, "Oh, I messed this up..."
Thinking, "At least I shouldn't burn it," I tried gathering the spreading edges and flipping it back and forth like I was rolling something up, but the shape ended up thick and messy.
I thought, "Whatever," and late in the process, I popped the yolk, barely avoiding a runny mess, and served it.
Eldest son: "Wow, it's so soft. As expected, you inherited Grandma's genes. It's delicious even if you just throw it together lol"
Second son: "Hmm~ It's soft, Dad."
Wife: "Strangely enough, it's really delicious."
Me: "I'm glad it's tasty even though it looks like a mess."
Eldest son: "As long as it's delicious, who cares if it looks like a mess? Haha"
Me: "What? A mess? lol"
Cooking is truly unpredictable lol
Sometimes when I make these random, unstructured dishes, the kids eat so well they practically lick their bowls clean.
