It seems people have become more lenient toward plagiarism compared to before.

In the past, people would say, "I am sorry for causing social controversy."
Nowadays, they say things like, "I have always been very interested in that artist and seem to have been greatly influenced by them. I'm giving them a shout-out..."
And then the whole thing just fizzles out..
