This stomach cancer surgery accident is absolutely insane (They did a total gastrectomy but it wasn't even cancer)

Does this even make sense??? During surgery, the doctor looked through the laparoscopy camera (visual inspection) and, without even doing a common frozen section, was certain it was terminal stage 4 stomach cancer. They cut out the entire stomach plus 30-40 attached lymph nodes, and connected the esophagus to the small intestine.. The biopsy results for the removed stomach tissue came out a week later. It's not cancer.. They said it's just a simple stomach ulcer..... Even the doctor was so flustered. Huh?? The pathology department also...
