Feasibility of ocean freight for products containing batteries (Request for information)

I am planning to export products containing batteries overseas. I am wondering if ocean freight is possible regarding the risk of battery explosion when the shipping route passes through the equator. If it is possible, what kind of documentation or packaging methods should be prepared?
