Watching the post-gold medal interviews makes me wonder what the seniors were doing

Some of these kids are even moving back and forth between the national team.
While they were certainly praying for their seniors to win gold,
it seems no one told them during the interviews, "Don't mention the military exemption."
If reporters ask, they should have been coached to say,
"It's a matter of pride as a national athlete; the military exemption is secondary."
Up until now, no one who won gold at the Asian Games
has given an interview like that, lol.
In this day and age, hardly anyone thinks winning gold at the Asian Games
is a massive boost to national prestige.
They are probably thinking, "Well, I won, so it's fine;
I don't care what happens next."
They might feel a little sorry for their juniors,
but they'll probably choose to ignore that depending on who they're looking at.
Since laws are rarely applied retroactively, they're likely just enjoying themselves.
