Which birth years belong to the generation that could easily eat beef?

The first time I ever ate beef was when I went to college, lol.
Come to think of it, it doesn't feel like it's been that long since beef became something we could eat comfortably(?). Can we say it's been about 20 to 25 years since beef became common?
My children actually dare(?) to pick their beef based on taste, saying Australian beef isn't good enough.
It feels like the nation's food accessibility has improved drastically all of a sudden.
My father used to tell stories about his childhood, saying he often went hungry because there was no rice and had to eat only porridge made from soaked grains, and on days he couldn't bring a lunch box, he was so hungry at school that he would drink tap water. ㅜㅜ
