Of course, English uses many Latin-based words for things like "elegance" or "luxury,"
But for primal, basic words and vocabulary that one must know by ages 4 to 6, English is heavily infused with Germanic roots.
To put it simply, Latin occupies a position similar to Sino-Korean vocabulary. For example, a serf living in the British countryside would rarely use them in daily life. On the other hand, the King's vassals or religious figures would speak Latin-derived words fluently several times a day.
