I heard Chinese cars are incredibly popular among elementary and middle schoolers these days, is that true??

While my seniors at work were talking about raising kids,
they were saying kids these days are truly scary
and that the latest trend is Chinese cars.
In the mid-to-late 2010s, the trends were
"Hyugeo" and "Jugeo" (meaning living in public housing)
"Bilgeo" (meaning living in a villa)
"Jeongeo" (meaning living on a Jeonse lease)
After entering 2020, trends like
"Gaegeun-geoji" emerged
(a mocking term for students with perfect attendance in elementary/middle school, implying they are too poor to go on overseas trips)
And now, I heard they even say things like "Is your dad's car a BYD?"
To any older brothers here with children this age, is this actually true? ㄷㄷ..
