Why do people poop in public showers?

Is it a mental illness...
While swimming
and while doing community fitness,
I haven't witnessed it twice personally, but I've heard about incidents happening.
In both places,
the restrooms weren't particularly far away or inconvenient,
yet they went out of their way to poop in the shower and run off.
That's a mental illness, right???
