The difference between a shipping proxy and a freight forwarder

Hello. I am a small business owner running a purchasing agent service in Korea. I have been using shipping proxies all this time, but while studying recently, I learned about something called a freight forwarder. I am curious about what the exact difference is between a shipping proxy and freight forwarding.
