It feels like it might be Lee Jae-myung's intention as well.
If this happens, it could become his sole significant achievement.
I personally don't see much reason for current law school students to oppose this.
In fact, considering the original purpose of law school, this is a system used in the US and Japan, so there's no reason to be against it.
Even if one becomes a lawyer through that route, the current job market isn't great anyway.
