Court increases real estate agents' 'liability for jeonse fraud'... "Up to 70% compensation"

A court ruling has been issued that imposes heavy responsibility on real estate agents regarding their duty to verify and explain information to prevent damage in jeonse fraud cases. On the 31st of last month, the Civil Division 1-3 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Maeng Jun-young) [ruled on] two appeals in damage compensation lawsuits filed by jeonse fraud victims against real estate agents and the Korea Association of Realtors.
