Jeju Island is an island, but what's unique is that it's a massive one

Jeju Island also fully possesses the characteristics of an island society (a sense of closedness, tightly knit by relatives and acquaintances).
However, on the other hand, the unique thing is that if you ask, "Is Jeju just a remote countryside area?" the answer is no.
I feel this every time I travel by taxi in Jeju;
no matter where you go, it takes much longer than you'd expect. Taxi fares are high, too.
So I looked it up recently, and it turns out Jeju is three times the size of Seoul.
Since Seoul is a bona fide international metropolis, being three times that size means it is very large.
Anyway, because of this, you might think that since it's an island, everyone knows everyone through a mutual connection, but that isn't actually the case.
People living in the city might not know what's happening in Seogwipo,
and they say people in Seogwipo have no reason to visit the city except when going to the airport.
Because of that, you can find all sorts of characters here.
There was that prosecutor who used to hunt down daughters in the past,
and that police officer who deleted records and went into the women's restroom recently seems quite suspicious as well...
Anyway, all of this is happening right here in Jeju.
