The probability of becoming a lawyer from Seoul National University's humanities division is incredibly low
There are 1,200 students in the humanities division at SNU, and if you include some from the STEM fields,
it's roughly 1,500 students.
Out of these, even if you include those at the bottom tier of regional law schools,
only about 300 make it.
No matter how much professors in humanities or social sciences hand out high GPAs, you need at least a 4.2,
and your LEET score must be over 120.
Furthermore, even at SNU, not everyone passes the bar exam,
so the probability of actually becoming a lawyer is roughly 15%.
This includes those going to Dong-A University Law School.
Accounting is even worse, with only about 80 students from SNU making it.
That's a 5% probability.
In short, the probability of going to SNU for humanities/social sciences and becoming a lawyer is
20%.
The rest, if things go well, end up in large corporations or public financial institutions,
while those at the lower end just end up in mid-sized companies.
That is why people say don't go to the SNU humanities division.
If it's this way for SNU, for universities like Yonsei, Korea, Sogang, Sungkyunkwan, or Hanyang,
the probability becomes exponentially lower.
