Drinking alone at a single old bachelor's house

When it comes to blanched squid, I miss that taste my mom used to pack for me
whenever I went to play in the Dobongsan Valley with my dad when I was a kid.
As for the beef jangjorim (braised beef in soy sauce), my maternal grandmother's house was in Sinsan-ri, near the 25th Division headquarters,
and I remember eating it together on the wooden yard platform after an officer's family staying at a boarding house brought it over.
But, but...
It just doesn't taste as good as it used to.
When I first had beef jangjorim as a child, I was so amazed, thinking, "How can such food exist on this earth!!" haha
Is it because I'm alone?
