To me... BIGBANG seemed lightweight.

Perhaps it is because I encountered the wave that is Seo Taiji too early...
Compared to him, those who appeared afterward... H.O.T, TVXQ... BIGBANG seemed so immature.
If Seo Taiji packed his four albums with such density and depth,
GD's songs felt somewhat soft...
He seemed like just another hitmaker, releasing only the kind of songs the public would enjoy.
Looking back...
GD has successfully protected his name and music while riding the waves of public trends for 20 years.
I believe that alone is an achievement Seo Taiji could not accomplish.
Seo Taiji breathed with the era, but he could not overcome the 90s.
He could not write the next page.
GD has breathed with the ever-changing public for 20 years,
silently enduring the weight of his name, the weight of popularity, and the weight of creation.
It is foolish to try to determine who is superior in popular culture.
However, how well one breathes with and survives alongside the public is a truly important matter,
and it is something not just anyone can do.
In that regard... as a Seo Taiji fan for decades... I pay my respects to GD.
