Do churches make you do a lot of ministry work?

Ministry work is basically just odd jobs, right?
Do they make you do a lot of it?
I was part of a club before,
and they made me do a massive amount of work.
I didn't realize it at the time because I was just doing what I was told,
but I regretted it deeply later on.
Do churches also make you do a lot of work?
