Getting hit by a bombshell farmland inspection in Namyangju-si
To those who have been farming for 20-30 years with a 33-66 sqm (10-20 pyeong) farm hut on their land.
They are issuing restoration orders calling them illegal housing and imposing brutal non-compliance fines. ㄷㄷ
When Lee Jae-myung was the Gyeonggi Governor, they cracked down hard on restoration orders for illegal warehouses, and now they are even going after farm huts where people are officially registered. The whole village is currently in chaos. The funny thing is, all the farm huts on farmland were caught, but apparently, those on forest land are fine.
The real speculators are people from Seoul who have already prepared all their paperwork to bypass legal issues, while only the long-time residents who have settled down are suffering.
There are also rumors that because this area is between Wangsuk New Town Districts 1 and 2 and is subject to development issues, they are conducting stricter inspections to limit compensation payouts.
As a farmer myself, I thought it wouldn't affect me since I don't have any legal issues, but with the collateral value for loans being lowered and even the decades-old farm huts that were tacitly overlooked being targeted, it seems to be going in the complete opposite direction of what President Lee envisions.
If they did this targeting these specific things, they are acting like complete fools.
