On the 26th, Rep. Joo Jin-woo of the People Power Party raised allegations that First Lady Kim Hye-kyung received so-called 'Emperor Golf Lessons' from professional golfer Lydia Ko and announced plans to file a complaint with the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials (CIO). The Democratic Party of Korea stated that Rep. Joo has been continuously spreading false information about the President's family and announced they would file a counter-complaint soon.
During the National Assembly Legislation and Judiciary Committee's comprehensive audit this afternoon, Rep. Joo claimed, "At 11:05 AM on the 20th, First Lady Kim Hye-kyung played a three-person round of golf at Taereung CC, a military golf course, with Lydia Ko and one male." He added, "We have secured various evidence, videos, and photos through multiple channels."
He stated, "Video footage filmed from the outside clearly shows the scene of her receiving field lessons accompanied by Lydia Ko," and "The key issue is under whose name the Taereung CC reservation was made." He further pointed out, "When a professional golfer provides accompanied lessons, field lesson fees can range from millions to tens of millions of won," and "The core issue is who covered these costs."
