A life-changing Chinese restaurant I found in Mokpo.jpg

Naver said they open at 7:00, so I rushed there to be first in line, but
the information was wrong ㅠㅠ
However, the elderly owner said it was fine and served me anyway.
They said they've been in this same spot for 43 years.
There are only 3 tables in the dining area,
and I was absolutely amazed by just one spoonful of the Jjamppong broth.
"It's actually possible to have a clear, refreshing Jjamppong without any artificial seasoning taste."
Abundant seafood (squid) and thin noodles (thinner than the average Jjamppong noodle, about half the thickness of Kalguksu noodles).
I finished the whole bowl in an instant and moved on to the Jajangmyeon across from it,
and here was my second surprise!
So this is what Jajangmyeon tasted like back in the day!
Of course, there was no artificial seasoning taste, but it was so nostalgic—
it felt like Ottogi 3-minute Jajang tried to imitate this flavor but only managed to achieve about 30% of it.
That classic Jajang taste, a truly, truly old-fashioned Jajangmyeon without the artificial seasoning.
I just left after scraping the bowl clean.
However, the owners are getting older and are thinking about retiring.
They say they plan to continue for about 2 to 3 more years, so if you are nearby or heading to Mokpo Station, please make sure to stop by.
You won't regret it.
I had that "old-school" Jjamppong in Hallim, Jeju, last month, but this is even better.
