Is there anything like this you've ever done in the military?

‌Being a new recruit brings back so many old memories.
I spent my entire military service doing nothing but manual labor, haha. I did a lot of things, but one thing I remember is when the First Sergeant suddenly told me to make a slingshot. When I asked what it was for, he said the Brigade Commander requested one? LOL. Since it was for the Brigade Commander, I couldn't just do a half-hearted job, so I spent about 2 hours walking around the unit looking for a branch of the right size and Y-shape. I dried it over a gentle fire, applied varnish, let it dry, and then went to the hardware store to buy the most expensive(?) rubber bands and rubber I could find to present it to him. LOLOLOLOL
The reason he needed a slingshot was that the Brigade Commander was raising chickens, but a cat kept killing them, so he wanted it made to drive the cat away. ^^;;
In the end, even the slingshot didn't work, so we welded a sturdy, wide chicken coop, and when that didn't work either, we set cat traps. Once we caught one, we would release it about 30 minutes away. I released about three of them, but that cat wasn't your typical cat; it was more like a leopard cat. Actually, it might have literally been a leopard cat...
