Seoul Metro files constitutional complaint seeking compensation for losses from free transit for national merit recipients

Seoul Metro announced today (8th) that it has filed a constitutional complaint with the Constitutional Court, demanding compensation for the loss of transportation revenue resulting from free transit services for national merit recipients and others.
The corporation explained, “Following the amendment of the ‘Act on Support for Persons Entitled to Veterans' Compensation’ in January 2023, which added disabled veterans and injured public officials to the free transit eligibility, the amount of losses has been snowballing every year.”
