Going with Poyet until the Asian Cup was indeed the best option
As a K-League fan, I watched almost every match during Poyet's time at Jeonbuk.
Going with Poyet until the Asian Cup was definitely the primary option, even though he caused his own exit.
People call it "long ball" under Poyet, but it's not that kind of "kick and rush" long ball.
It's a style where you thicken the midfield line and use a "head machine" who can hold up the ball to drop it down for the attackers to snatch and score.
For defense, he wants fighting spirit and fast defenders, with cooperative defending being a given.
If Poyet had stayed, Lee Young-jun would have been the number one pick.
He wouldn't have used slow players like Oh Hyeon-gyu or Lee Tae-seok either.
Since everything is already out the window, I just hope Moreno does well. If given enough time, I think he could perform at a level equal to or even better than Bento.
However, I do wonder if it's actually possible to implement his tactics in such a short amount of time.
