This is supposedly why defamation by stating facts cannot be abolished

Person A committed a crime and served their sentence.
They have re-entered society and are living their life.
Someone informs the group Person A belongs to that Person A was punished for such a crime.
Person A leaves that group and joins another.
Then, someone informs the new group as well.
They say the reason it cannot be abolished is that it allows for this kind of private sanction.
