The author's post is nonsense, but the intention is correct.
However, there is no need to buy expensive luxury clothes (so-called "logo play") or the kind of clothes the author suggests using money to buy dignity.
You just need to buy and replace clothes at a level that fits your income, maintaining a neat and clean style, and simply make sure to wash, dry, and wear fresh, fragrant clothes every day.
Just wash yourself well, manage your body so there is no "old man smell" from skin folds, and manage your weight so you aren't obese—that should be enough.
I don't think the author's post is something that deserves criticism, but if an acquaintance held those kinds of views, I would distance myself from them immediately.
